More updates

Hi all...

No... no baby yet but my due date is tomorrow so we will see if he wants to come on time.

So I have two new pictures of Buba from December 19th when I was 36 weeks and 5 days.

He is giving us a nice pout :)

Do you see the foot and leg?

I read a post today from a previous teacher of mine who is also pregnant and having it a lot worse off than I ever did. She mentioned in one of her posts about how much she was suffering and how God knows all our suffering and pains. I also know He is always there and knows my trials, but then she mentioned something that I hadn't though of and has changed my whole perspective on the upcoming delivery. Here is what she said (and I hope she is okay with me quoting her on this. I won't use her name just in case she isn't but it was said so beautifully that I could never reproduce it on my own.)
"I have felt that my whole life I've emphasized the Savior’s understanding of our pain. I've borne testimony that He knows all our pains and sorrows. I still believe that with all the conviction of my heart. However, never before have I sought to understand His pain, and His suffering. Up to now, all my pain has been for my own sake, centered on me. Now that I have this amazing life growing within me I know that my suffering is for someone else. And even though my hardship is so small in comparison, I am grateful to have this minuscule understanding of what suffering out of love for another is like."
Isn't that beautiful. In thinking about my pregnancy and upcoming labor like this, how can I not feel some sense of peace and understanding. Christ did it for me, so why can't I do something (albeit, alot smaller of a suffering than Christ did) for my child. Already I feel a growing love for my unborn son and know that I would do anything in the world and beyond to protect him.

I hope I can be a good Mama to him. I am not experienced in everything that I need to know for him but I hope he will forgive me and together; Me, Kenny, Buba, and God, will make it through this next transition in our already hectic and crazy lives.

Wish me Luck!

Coming to the end...

So it occurred to me the a) I haven't blogged in forever and b) I haven't posted anything new about my pregnancy for at least two posts. So hear goes :)

I am 35 weeks and 4 days today. Buba (that's his nickname till we decide on a name for him) is as healthy as ever. He comes term on the 21st of December and his due date is the 11th of January.

Here are the pictures I have of him at the 20 week ultrasound.

He has a cute little nose!!

See his little feet and toes??

If you look closely you can see that he is looking straight at you :). The dark circles are his eyes.

I also thought I would post some pictures of me throughout the pregnancy to show my belly growth ;)

About 20 weeks (left) and almost 30 weeks (right)
30 weeks (left) and almost 32 weeks (right)

32 weeks (left) a little more than 34 weeks (right)
I only have about 1 1/2 - 4 1/2 weeks left till he comes (1 1/2 till term and 4 1/2 till due date) and I am not sure I am ready. I am definitely ready to see him but not sure about the process to seeing him.

I have been learning about epidurals and natural births and honestly they both scare me to death. On one end I will have to have a tube in my back the whole (which I don't think I could handle) and on the other, would be having no pain meds and just screaming my way through it. I am not sure right now which way I like better.

I know women have been doing this since the beginning of time but I can't fathom how they do it. I am almost considering going natural but then I don't think I could handle the pain. It is healthier for the and helps the process along by not numbing the things that will help you get the baby out. But at the same time, I don't think I could handle the pain. I am just not sure what to do!

Having an epidural would help with the option of the pain but I can't imagine having a tube out my back. I am not really afraid of the needle but more of the things that will come from it. The thought of having something jutting out my back, the numbness, the tingles, the itchiness. I just don't think I could handle all that either.

Such a huge decision to make in such a short time... I always believed myself to be a strong person till this...

I guess the next coming weeks will tell all about who I really am.

I know that I am weak but that through God, I will see my weaknesses become strengths. Giving birth to this child is definitely something that is ordained and watched over by God so I hope that together we can make it through whichever way I choose to do it.

I thank my wonderful husband for his support in all of this, in coming to all my appointments, helping me when times got rough, and being here through it all. I love to see his face light up when he feels Buba kick or move around or have the hiccups. (Yes, Buba has hiccups strong enough to be felt from the outside... poor little guy). I don't know how I would have gotten through all of this with out him, both our families for support, and without my Father in Heaven. I know each and everyone of them loves me and the baby and wants to help out in anyway they can. I just hope I can be strong enough to bear the burden placed upon me.

I am frightened, truly frightened...

I will let you all know what happens next in the coming weeks. We all believe that Buba will be joining us for Christmas this year (which means I have an even shorter time) so you should probably hear from me soon.

Take care and good luck with the rest of finals to those who have them! (I still have one left that I am putting off... sigh)

Until next time!

Crafts...

So I haven't done alot of crafts but I thought I would show you what I had.

Crocheted  bag I made for my mother-in-law for Mother's day.

This is a chest of drawers that my husband and I spray painted for our baby coming in January.

This is a cross-stitch I did for my sister, Jessica.

I decided to add the cross-stitch to a frame with some picture for a late anniversary gift.
I am currently working on a blanket for my new baby boy coming in January. The green blue yarn is out of stock everywhere so it's progress is at a half but here is what it looks like so far:
This is folded in half and then half again. It isn't going to be huge but I am only about half-way done.
Those are all the crafts I have done lately and I hope to have more to do soon :)

Thanks for reading!

Giving the Gift

My sister have been given an awesome opportunity to participate in a fun event with

It is about gifting it forward.
It is a way to receive and then give more than you received.

It is very simple, Jessie ( http://hornibrookfamily.blogspot.com) will get a gift from Ginger and then sends out a gift to three people turning one gift into three. Since I am privileged to be one of those three, I now get to send three gifts out to three of you, turning three gifts into nine and so on and so forth... (like the picture above).

So, the first three people to comment on this post will receive a gift from me. Not quite sure what they will be yet so hopefully a surprise will be fun.

In order to be part of the fun you have to play along. Those of you first three that comment will have 72 hours to post on your blog about this or I'll have to move on to comment #4 and so on.

The Fine Print:
These are the rules set forth by somebody somewhere back in the links of links of links. They are what they are and they shouldn't be changed.

Make sure in your comment you leave a way for me to contact you so that I can 1. acknowledge that you have been selected and 2. get your address to send you your gift!!!

This will be sooooo fun! Good luck to everyone :)

And were having a .......

Well in the last post I showed you the pictures of us finding out we were having a baby and now I get to proudly pronounce what kind of baby that is! Are you ready?!?

Here are some pictures that we got from the ultrasound to help you see if you can figure it out:

Here are the legs... they are crossed :D so cute!

There's an arm... do you see it?

Here is a full picture of the baby. Looks almost like it wants a hug :D

Here is the last picture that we got before finding out.
I didn't want to upload the "find out" pictures so that the baby could have some privacy. hope you don't mind :D. So, do you have a guess yet as to what the baby is? Well if you don't that's ok too cuz i will tell you.

We are having a .....

BOY!

It will be so fun to have a little boy running around the house. Hopefully everything goes smoothly. I have my twenty week ultrasound in two weeks from today so hopefully we can determine just how big he is and when we will be blessed to come into our lives.

Have a great day!

Guess What!!!! We're Pregnant!!

Hey all!! Kenny and I just found out wonderful news May 14th. But let me backtrack a little and tell you the story.

On May 3, which happens to be my BESTEST friend's birthday, I had to go to the doctors cuz I wasn't feeling very well. I went in and they poked around on my stomach and found I was tender over my appendix. They immediately sent me to the hospital to rule it out with a CT scan and some blood work. I won't go into too much detail of my experience there. The main point I wanted to hit was when I was going into the CT scan room. I had been noticing signs around telling me that I needed to let the doctor know if there was any way I could be pregnant. So I did. The checked me right then and there with a blood test because I wouldn't be able to do the CT scan if I was. I had to wait awhile but he came back and told me I was negative.

Well long story short. I didn't have anything wrong with my appendix and I was able to go to work.

Well my cycle was suppose to start up on that Sunday, the 6th, and it didn't start. In fact by Saturday, I was a little rattled. The doctor at the hospital had told me I wasn't pregnant and here I was missing my cycle. Kenny and I decided it was time for a home test.

The first one came back positive... but I wasn't convinced. We had a long day on saturday (and I was sick with this stupid virus I still have now that makes me cough, sneeze, have a sore throat, not be able to breath out my nose, and lose my voice) so I waited till that night to do another. This one also came back positive. Kenny was content with two and was already starting to get excited. But I needed more convincing. I waited an entire day, till Sunday night, to do one final one and it came out the most positive out of them all.

We wanted to tell everyone on Mother's day (which was Sunday) but the doctor's office didn't open till Monday. So we waited to get the confirmation Monday morning (yesterday) before hatching the plan to tell everyone.

We got my mom a mother's day card that said Grandma at the top. The contents then said, "Sorry I couldn't be there for mother's day but could you do one little thing for me.... Give yourself a great big hug! Love you, Happy Mother's day!" and then Kenny finished it off with the text, "From your newest grandchild. See you around January 11th"

Using this card was the best. I gave it to my family first and then borrowed it to show it on the screen for my Mother-in-Law and my sister.

Best Mother's day gift I think I could have given them :)

I have now had two visits to my doctor where I got this picture at 10 weeks:

and got to really hear a loud and strong heartbeat. I am 13 weeks and 5 days right now and we should find out the gender around August, but for right now I am content knowing I have someone growing inside me that I love very much :).
